ON A BRIGHTER NOTE I HAVE COMPLETED MY FIRST SPARTAN RACE!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
We went for the most basic and cheapest category on impulse.
And because we're cheap.
In which we regretted our decision and did not regret our decision too at the same time because
it's fun!
IT'S EXHILARATING TO COMPLETE THE OBSTACLES!
but it's definitely not nice to hike up the hill under the blazing hot sun at 2pm in the afternoon

and also NOT fun when we almost got burned by the metal while trying to climb over it

ouch.
So I got like permanent burn on my skin now lol yeah I skipped the tanned stage and dived right into the burnt char siew phase. Notice how I mentioned char siew instead of siu yuk instead because char siew is black while siu yuk is crispy golden brown.
Yeah.
But it was amazing!
11/10 would go again. There's 1 in July but it's way too expensive for us so we decided to skip it.
The obstacles were f u c k i n g hard though I definitely need to train more upper body because I can't even reach the monkey bars for my life and goddamn the things we had to carry are freaking HEAVY.
It's like 40lbs minimum so about 20kg~40kg of carrying stuff.
SO HEAVYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.
We had headaches after the race because we were under the sun for too long I guess.
Yeah I definitely need to train harder. Aim for trifecta!
We had a mini culture shock when we arrived there. Our batch's starting time was 1.15pm and we're the last batch, so when we arrived, most of them already completed their race lol since the tougher categories were earlier.
The amount of fit bodies woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

It's getting hot in here (woohoo)
HAHAHAHHA
HONESTLY, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN SO MANY FIT, BEEYOOTIPUL BODIES IN DA HOUSE LIKE THE RATIO OF BUFF PEOPLE PER SQUARE METER IS OFF THE CHARTS!!!!
'
THEY ALL HAVE ABS. I REPEAT.
THEY ALL HAVE ABS!!!!!!!!!
EVEN THE LADIES!!! EXCUSE ME BUT THOSE AREN'T JUST STRAIGHT 11 LINES. THOSE ARE ABS!!!!!!!
HOLY.
I've never felt so small in my whole life before HAHAHAH
The first obstacle was basically hoisting a bag in which you have to pull the rope and the pulley will pull the bag up from the ground and the bag has to reach all the way to the top and holy shit it doesn't look heavy but IT IS!!!

I started first and HAHA I couldn't even lift that shit up from the ground so I was like OK let's try again and grip harder this time. Feet flat, body lowered to the ground, pulled as hard as I can and BAM.
I went sliding forward to the metal fence that separated us and the bags HAHAHA. Of course we helped each other because IT'S JUST IMPOSSIBLE TO DO IT ON OUR OWN.
The monkey bars were also impossible because it's SO FAR AND SO HIGH UP I CAN'T EVEN REACH THEM FOR GOD'S SAKE HAHAHAHA
There were actually punishments of 30 burpees if you failed to complete it but since the referees were all tired and it's so hot, we skipped them hehe.
Also, everyone was pretty friendly with each other, including the participants and volunteers. Like everyone was just helping each other and sharing better ways to complete the obstacles, very positive energy y'know.
Like we learned how to climb the rope with different techniques but still failed miserably lol.
We also talked to another participant while waiting for the safety jackets (had to cross the river) and she said she completed 2 trifectas so it's her 7th race currently and we're like H O L Y W O M A N.
Overall, it's a pretty good experience for me. I really liked it and yeah I'll definitely join again when there's a chance. I mean, at least there's a goal for me to achieve since I'm already going to the gym after work.
Like, exercising can only get you up to this level but since there's a race to look forward to, now it's like a motivation y'know like I HAVE TO COMPLETE THIS RACE NO MATTER WHAT.
Also, I love their shirt and medal quality, the shirt's really fitting and the medal is h e a v y man. Good quality stuff right here.
Though it's a little expensive haha.
