Lockdown ah
I'm going to have a mental breakdown for having nothing to do for a bloody month in this lockdown.

Yes I do have work to do but not much because drafting's the major issue now.
Engineers don't do drafting in my office.
If I was still in my ex-company, I'd probably die from stress instead because I have to do both design and drafting lol.
Anyway.
It's day 9 of lockdown!
I'm at home alone with my parents. Sisters are living in their own units.
I literally took the car keys after they announced lockdown so my parents would stay put at home.
But my dad had to go to work on day 2 (okay fine) and my mum diedie wanted to go to the market to seeseelooklook on what's fresh.

Don't know which part of "stay at home" didn't she understand in PM's speech.
She even had the audacity to tell me she drank kopi in the market already!!!!!!!! Without bothering to wear a mask!!!! And wore the same clothes again after she showered!!
"I go for a while only mah haiyo."
Yeah.
Apparently covid virus is our typical security guard who will ask you ok amoi pergi mana and you tell them oh pick up/drop off then they also ok and let you pass without driving license.
So covid also ok aunty you pick up saja, open boom gate, no problem.
Wtf I raid all the taufus and throw at you 1 by 1 until you insaf.

So I got furious and told my mum that I would go to the market instead. Why still wanna go out when PM already said stay at home!! Hospitals cannot handle you also!!!
She also got furious and said I wouldn't know what is there to buy and how to buy.
So I furiously x3 told her that I would buy, just TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT. I BUY. YOU STAY AT HOME. I WILL GO AT 6AM.
She furiously x4 told me she wanted this this this this. BUY.
Saya pun furiously x5 told her ok.
Apa mau buat.
I woke up the next morning at 6am, brushed my teeth and went to the market to get her FreSh aYam kAmPuNg.

I made sure to go this early, earlier than her usual time so that SHE DOESN'T SNEAK OUT WHILE I WAS STILL SLEEPING.
After tons of scaring her with news about the outbreak and how my friends are working in hospitals, articles about older people have much higher chances of dying, number of cases going up like crazy, she finally gave in.
So I'm now in charge of groceries.

See.
I am my parents' daughter.
Their stubbornness combined together into the youngest child.
Also because I need some fresh air omg it's so boring at home.
I encountered a few road blocks on the highway but the police gave up everytime and just let everyone go lol.
I was hoping they would fine cars with more than 1 person in it because the government has already announced that only 1 person can go out.
Then when I stepped into the supermarket, tons of aunties there with either their husbands or daughters.
GO OUT ALONE LA ADOIIIIIIIIIII.
WHY DO YOU GUYS WANT TO SHOP TOGETHERRRRRRRRR.
ALREADY THERE'S NOT ENOUGH DISTANCE FOR PEOPLE TO HAVE SOCIAL DISTANCING.
NOW YOU WANT TO GO SEE VEGETABLES TOGETHER PULAK WALAO.
MENYAMPAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

If the wife refuses to let the husband go because he's clueless then ok!!! The wife go lah!! Why do you want to bring your husband also?!?!
If only your husband knows how to drive then ok!! Ask the husband go alone lah!!! Give him that list and let him buy it!!! He's a freaking adult not a dog who doesn't know which is lettuce and which is spinach!!!!!
Just cook and eat whatever he buys lah!!!!!!! 1 month only will die meh if you eat kangkung instead of cabbage?!

Wtf?!?!?!
If buying meat is apparently TOO DIFFICULT FOR A GROWN MAN TO HANDLE then buy eggs lah!!! Don't tell me eggs also can choose wrong?!
Ok aside from the things that annoyed me during this lockdown period,
I can't deny that this recession worries me.
Firstly and honestly, yeah my stocks took a hit on that and wow you have no idea how painful it is to even look at my portfolio but it's okay because I'm still young and can earn the money back and I still have untouched emergency savings for me to survive at least half a year while still giving my parents the same amount of allowance.
Second, my job. Work. How am I going to go back to work, chasing all these datelines?!? Will my salary still remain the same? Will they cut my pay?!? How?! I mean, okay I think I'm considered lucky to be in this field because I believe there are tons of people who would be losing their jobs instead and be unemployed for few months or even years.
Ouch.
Luckily, I don't have commitments. Except insurance. My car is already paid off fully so I just give my parents a monthly allowance.
No housing loan whatsoever.
See, this adds another point to why I think renting > buying HAHAHA. Excuse me that mortgage would suck the life out of me because what if I'm unemployed and have thousands of debts to pay. At least if I'm renting and I lose my job, I can just go back and wail in my parents' house like a spoiled mtfk.
Also, how is the economy going to recover??!?
Holy shit???
I know there would be a recession every decade based on Ray's economic cycle video in which he explained this excellently.
I'm thankful to be at the stage of life where I do not have any HEAVY commitments burdening me, I'm still a young graduate so I have a lot of time to fuck up, have emergency savings in my backside, medical insurance to also cover my backside and hopefully won't be affected by the recession a lot.
Some day I hope to draw out simple illustrations on giving financial advice to our generation, especially women because we love shopping hehehe.
I'd love to tell you that the best time to invest is now, a quote repeatedly chanted by a lot of economists like Warren Buffet, but of course, please consider your risk appetite.
There might be a rebound in the market, or there might be a heavier dip in the market. No one knows. It also depends on whether you're going to be in the market for short term or long term.
Okay!
Take care and stay safe!
I wish I could do a podcast but unfortunately I'm just a nobody hahahaha.
