tofu? pudding?

Yo!

Met up with the gang yesterday and had HaiDiLao for the first time.

We went to Velocity at 4pm+, there was no queue but we were waiting outside for YX to come. So we could already get a table when she arrived.

Ordered few plates of meat, no seafood of course. 1 vegetable, 1 fried buns, 1 fish skin crisps, 2 portions of fine noodles (not the la mien), total was about RM66 per pax. Cheaper than I expected because we were pretty full and satisfied.

I was actually expecting it to be at least 80 because it's HDL and we ate until we're content lol. We were probably full from the soup and desserts la. The Ma La is so good though although it's exactly the same as the instant soup base you get in supermarkets hahahahahaha.

It's okay la once in a blue moon. If you want a cheaper option then by all means just get the soup base from supermarket and you can dump whatever ingredients you wish to eat with half the price.

I got a new Huawei Mediapad during MCO.

Originally I was going to get an iPad from WC's sister but because the virus happened, and she's working in Singapore, and obviously I wouldn't get it as soon as I wanted it lol so I just got the tab from Lazada.

I wanted to get a tablet because

a) my laptop was barely surviving.

I got it at 2016 so it's about 4 years old already la even though I installed SSD to speed it up. But holy f it got so laggy even though I uninstalled a lot of things. I couldn't even open my freaking start menu and use the task bar.

But I reformatted and wiped out everything like it's brand new and IT WORKED!!!

I didn't expect it to work because I reformatted it every year but I guess I got lucky by reformatting it AGAIN.

It's much faster now although I obviously cannot use it to play games or use heavy software.

b) my mum could use it when no one's at home.

I taught her how to use my laptop so she can use it when her Astro wouldn't work due to the rain lol but she's not really a tech savvy warga emas even though I printed it out step by step to her in A4 colored.

Now she uses the tablet to play Sudoku.

Moving on to my portfolio.

Yes KLCI crashed.

Ouch.

I was down like 15-20% during the lowest point of KLCI which could get me a new Huawei phone.

The same goes to Stashaway but half the amount la not as bad as stocks.

It was definitely heartbreaking and painful but I waited for a while before deciding to invest more because everything was basically on sale.

Now my stocks are better, still losing 3% but it's balanced by my Stashaway's positive returns.

If my balls didn't shrink and I invested more at the dip I would've gained at least 10% returns but OK MY BOLA KECUT so it's okay at least I learned something during this period.

Telling myself repeatedly that I'm buying for long term I'm buying for long term I'm buying for long term.

I was supposed to go to Tokyo but since the trip didn't happen and won't be happening so soon, I basically had a lump of cash sitting in my bank account so eventually I invested some of it and hopefully would give me a better Tokyo trip next year :(
