hey june

 Hello!

It's the end of June now and I've been working from home for a month now I guess. Wfh from my studio of course.

I know I can actually go back home if I want to but yeah no haha

There's a post by Singaporean The Woke Salaryman which I find very accurate:

Link here in case I fucked up the embed thing for blogger.

But I want to clarify that I wasn't on bad terms with my parents prior to moving out. I just wanted to be more independent and y'know. Personal space.

Plus it's not really nearer to my workplace lolol it is COMPLETELY THE SAME distance from my office because it's only 5 minutes drive from my parents.

I just wanted to have more personal time doing the same things and stop relying on my parents too much before I get a culture shock moving out at the age of 30. Well technically I moved out to Puchong too la when I was working in my ex-company. It was hell back then because I was working so much (although not as much as my ex-colleagues) and we only went back to the hostel to basically sleep.

In my opinion, I definitely had more quality time with my parents after I moved out partially because I see them too much 24/7 and there's really nothing more to talk to. I'm not sure if they felt the same about me la hahahah. I was actually talking more to my mum whenever I go back on the weekends; updates on my relatives, her friends, cooking, dramas etc.

I still give allowance to my parents every month, kinda reduced it a little because of my increasing expenses.

Back to the current FMCO and wfh order. I'm quite lucky for not being forced to work in office since half of the office were forced to go back. I'm really free for this period hahahaha because....... my projects couldn't get approval to commence work from MITI so I pretty much only work like 2/3 hours daily.

I actually have to model something for my project but because we're using remote desktop - Anydesk and it lags really bad so I'm using it as an excuse to not do anything hahahahahaha.

Also because my superior doesn't really trust me in using the same software; I learned from my other colleagues and modeled for 1 of our projects but she's quite skeptical about my analysis so she got another senior to help remodel again for us.

So whatever la I mean, if I'm getting the same pay and doing senior's work then might as well I pretend I don't know how to do right lol. It's not like I'll get a boost in pay after modelling it.

The other half of my "wfh" time I have spent it on cleaning, cooking, napping, simple workouts, taobaoing.

I have no objections for this kind of wfh until the end of the year hahahaha but of course our boss will force us to go back to office the minute MITI starts sending out approvals to everyone.

-----------------------------------------------------

We had Haidilao steamboat the other evening and omg such a perfect timing because it was raining HEAVILY outside like you could see the tree right in front of our window moving aggressively because of the wind lol.

WC insisted on buying pork belly from the market and slice it himself and I really didn't expect it to be so tasty LOLOL. I mean, steamboat is all about the sliced pork right and my mum always buys some thick sliced pork from Idk where and it's not really nice.

I think I should boil soup every week now because it's surprisingly easy to make and I didn't know because not like I do these things at home kan.

I don't even do house chores at home.

Yes please feel free to condemn this spoiled child.

Hehehe.

Luckily this 550sqft shoebox studio is small enough so I can sweep and mop daily without whining.

Sometimes we think what IF we actually bought the usual rumahwip 900sqft instead of renting this studio.

Usually it'll be 3R2B kan and I was like how on earth am I going to sweep and mop so many rooms everyday ugh and what am I gonna do with the 3rd room like am I going to lock it forever etc.

I do know once I buy and actually own the unit, I'll spend more renovating and improving my house haha. Like ugh this kitchen is too small or the sink is too ugly etc we need a NEW KITCHEN CABINET NEW KITCHEN APPLIANCES NEW OVEN NEW MICROWAVE NEW!!!!!!!!!!!

Then I'll look at the living room and think LET'S HANG SOMETHING THERE LET'S BUY A RACK LET'S BUY CABINET LET'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then I'll look at the other rooms and think LET'S MAKE A HOME GYM LET'S BUY THIS FEW K+ EQUIPMENT LET'S MAKE IT COOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Then I look around myself in this 550sqft studio and think yep I think WC needs more storage for his business. The end. Do not look at other things. Must not and will not.

Speaking about his business, it's going pretty good so far and jsyk I'm not actually part of the business and don't want to be haha after all he will have his own partner once they open up the cafe.

I'm really just the side assistant aka secretary like organising spreadsheets and inventory lists and expenses and guinea pig tester etc.

He bought paper bags from Taobao and chose the wrong shipping - freaking consolidated AIR shipping so the shipping amounted to RM100+++ wtf lol sial.

But it's still cheaper than buying paper bags from Shopee even though it's only from Johor.

Yes you see that right.

IT'S CHEAPER TO FLY/BUY SMALL PAPER BAGS FROM FREAKING CHINA THAN BUYING FROM JOHOR.

Sometimes we want to support local sellers but Taobao is just dirt cheap.
